Teenage girl hunts alligators

Posted in Hunting on September 17th, 2009 by Arthur – Be the first to comment

This young lady is going to make some young Texan and very happy husband some day.

“A South Carolina teenager spent Saturday night on a boat hunting of all things, alligators, and she came back with a big one. 16 year old Cammie Colin helped catch a gator that was 10 feet, five inches long and weighed 353 pounds.

Colin was on a boat with family and friends in a swampy area and caught the reptile. The junior varsity cheerleader has been on deer hunts with her father, but this was her first time alligator hunting and she says it was a thrill. ”

Yeay Team!

Teach your children well

Here we see an attempted home-invasion robbery by a group of three thugs. The female tried to get the inhabitants to open the door based on a ruse. The 12 year-old wisely refused to open the door and the frustrated robbers attempted to force entry by kicking and eventually shooting the door.

Lessons:

1. Teach your family members never to open the door unless it is a trusted visitor.
2. Make sure the physical structure of your home is sufficient to withstand physical assault.
3. Technology such as surveillance cameras are effective at recognizing a possible threat and recording incidents for investigation.

“The Broward Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in finding a trio of unwelcome guests who tried to force their way into a North Lauderdale home with a gun, and the whole incident was caught on camera.

According to BSO, a woman urgently knocked on the front door of a home in the 900 block of Magnolia Avenue, after midnight on Friday, September 11th.

The knocking woke up a 12-year old boy sleeping inside. The woman outside asked for his mother and claimed to be her cousin. The boy did not recognize the woman’s voice and refused to open the door.

A surveillance camera mounted just over the front door showed what happened next. There were two masked men holding handguns standing with the woman. The woman stepped behind them, and one gunman tried to kick the door open. Then he fired two shots into the door. Wood and debris floated into the camera lens, and when it cleared, the suspects had disappeared.

The bullets went through the front door, but the boy had stepped away from the door, and no one was hit.”

Gun Rights Policy Conference

The 2nd Amendment Foundation and other gun rights groups will be hosting the Gun Rights Policy Conference.

Dave Workman has the details:

“Gun rights leaders and activists from all over the map will converge next week in St. Louis, MO for the 24th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference, and already the agenda looks ripe for sparks.

There seems to be quite a bit of news attention to this year’s event, which will be held at the Airport Renaissance Hotel.

Sponsored by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), the GRPC also gets support from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and National Rifle Association, KeepAndBearArms.com, Gun Week and Women & Guns.

After a two-year hiatus, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre is scheduled to deliver a special address during the Saturday session, and former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr, who was the Libertarian Party presidential candidate in 2008 will keynote the annual awards luncheon on Saturday.”

Hunting Dall Sheep in Alaska

Field and Stream online has an excellent article on a Dall Sheep Ram hunt near the Sheep River in Alaska.

“As far as I can see, there is no top and no bottom to this central Alaskan mountainside. The clouds are low and solid, and the blowing sleet is almost horizontal. My field of view is about as expansive as it would be inside a living room. This is terrain where you could walk off a cliff in the dark. But the mountain’s 60-degree pitch, and a heavy backpack loaded with a rifle and 10 days’ worth of food and gear, has me moving slowly and carefully.”

On the 12th of September, Americans rallied

Posted in Culture on September 13th, 2009 by Arthur – Be the first to comment

On September 12, millions of Americans rallied for the values that made the USA great.

9-12

The New York Times reports rallies nationwide for smaller government.
*cough, cough!*

“Many came on their own and were not part of an organization or group. But the magnitude of the rally took the authorities by surprise, with throngs of people streaming from the White House to Capitol Hill for more than three hours.”

9-12project

Nine Principles

1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

12 Values

Honesty
Reverence
Hope
Thrift
Humility
Charity
Sincerity
Moderation
Hard Work
Courage
Personal Responsibility
Gratitude
